Role Overview

The Regional Sales Director is responsible for spearheading the development, leadership, and motivation of the sales team within a designated territory. This role involves guiding the team towards improved performance and overseeing all business operations in the region, including dealer sales strategies, market share expansion, and revenue target achievement, ensuring alignment with our comprehensive growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed assigned objectives for market share expansion, revenue growth, order/shipment volumes, and margin percentage.
  • Execute all sales functions and processes in accordance with the Knoll Sales methodology, utilizing provided corporate tools and resources.
  • Collaborate with dealers in the region to formulate annual joint business plans, conducting regular reviews to assess progress and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Assess the performance and activities of the regional sales team, making adjustments to optimize personnel deployment.
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain a professional and motivated sales staff, with performance metrics reflecting results and employee satisfaction.
  • Engage regularly with the A+D Vice President/Director(s) to align on regional A+D strategies.
  • Lead market strategies in a small to mid-sized region, engaging all business partners across various vertical market segments.
  • Work in tandem with other Regional Sales Directors to align on individual market strategies, ensuring support for all business partners within the region.
  • Oversee regional business activities, including budget management, discounting, account planning, and relationship management with customers and dealers.
  • Adhere to assigned expense budgets while managing business activities.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required to meet business objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate regional reporting as requested by Executive Sales Leadership and Sales Operations.
  • Utilize Salesforce (CRM) to manage an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast monthly sales volumes by account and product line.
  • Strategically collaborate with business partners within Knoll North America, leveraging current Regional Operating Agreements.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, with equivalent experience considered.
  • A minimum of 2 years of sales leadership experience, showcasing a proven track record in leadership and knowledge of the contract/capital goods sectors.
  • 4-6 years of successful experience in selling contract/capital goods.
  • Familiarity with Knoll products, services, and culture, along with the ability to differentiate Knoll offerings from competitors.
  • Advanced selling skills, including account penetration, strategic selling, consultative selling, negotiation, and contract closing, with a strategic mindset and tactical execution ability.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and negotiative approach.
  • A self-starter attitude with the confidence to represent Knoll professionally, gaining trust from a diverse customer base.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while building long-term relationships with customers and partners.
  • A passion for the sales process, with a keen understanding of its foundations, actively seeking opportunities and managing risks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on listening and demonstrated people management capabilities.
  • A commitment to high personal performance standards, continuous learning, and results-oriented behavior.
  • A high level of integrity and business ethics.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen, with a profit-conscious mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Proficiency in office automation, communication software, and tools used in the Knoll office environment.
