In this role, your primary focus will be to identify, cultivate, and strengthen both new and existing strategic regional accounts for Behr/Kilz products and services aimed at professional account channels. Your responsibilities will include establishing a sales pipeline, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and executing targeted strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, drive revenue, and improve profitability. A commitment to safety is integral to our workplace culture and is a prerequisite for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with corporate leadership and the regional Vice President to facilitate the execution of Behr's annual Strategic Deployment Plan (SDP)
- Formulate a comprehensive market strategy for key, target, and high-potential clients, establishing realistic goals and objectives
- Meet established sales targets, metrics, and objectives within your designated territory
- Employ a strategic sales methodology to deliver value-added business solutions across various sectors including Property Management Residential, Property Management Commercial, Hospitality, Healthcare, and Homeowners Associations (HOA)
- Aim to secure exclusive vendor status with clients and regularly draft specifications
- Implement daily call strategies, accurately document information in Salesforce, and collaborate with the sales team for project assistance
- Conduct informative presentations, seminars, and trade show demonstrations
- Provide expert product knowledge and service to clients, comprehending their business processes and requirements
- Communicate business challenges and opportunities to relevant departments and management
- Exhibit proficient knowledge of products and services to ensure precise recommendations and orders
- Maintain awareness of product range and inventory levels to satisfy customer demand
- Efficiently resolve customer issues and collaborate across departments to surpass sales targets
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in sales, retail, or customer service, particularly in a commercial coatings context, is advantageous
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or Professional Designations
- A valid driver's license and adherence to the Company motor vehicle policy are mandatory
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Proficient in drafting specifications
- Skilled in engaging with diverse customer types and assessing their needs
- Strong abilities in selling, negotiation, problem-solving, and networking
- Experience in the construction industry and/or architectural coatings is beneficial
- Capability to adjust approach and style to meet account objectives
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and/or iOS software applications
- Familiarity with Salesforce/CRM systems
- Adept at managing and analyzing substantial amounts of information efficiently
Language Skills
- Fluency in English; knowledge of a second language in specific regions is a plus
Physical Demands
This role may require physical activities such as using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and verbal communication. Specific vision requirements include both close and distance vision, along with the ability to travel by air and road as necessary.
Work Environment
During the course of work, you may encounter minimal exposure to certain chemicals or fumes. The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate.
