POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with key customer contacts. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating effective communication and coordination of daily operations and projects with customers and relevant NPAA personnel.
  • Monitoring and assessing online performance metrics and quality standards related to processing, color, and appearance.
  • Reporting issues and opportunities for improvement to the appropriate teams, including Paint Design, Quality Assurance, and Production.
  • Gathering and relaying information regarding inventory and usage to ensure effective management.
  • Collaborating with customers and sales teams to resolve pricing and credit-related issues.
  • Implementing and tracking value-added activities that enhance the paint production process.
  • Conducting thorough analyses of paint and process challenges, utilizing formal problem-solving methodologies.
  • Generating necessary reports, data, and documentation related to projects and account issues.
  • Coordinating technical service requirements for customers.
  • Recommending process enhancements for improved product performance.
  • Managing sample submissions and production trials.
  • Participating in the facility's Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Assisting in the development of application line correlations and formula verifications.
  • Communicating color adjustments to relevant representatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant industry experience or 6 years of applicable experience in automotive coatings and processes.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including MS Office and SAP.
  • Strong understanding of color measurement technology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Flexibility in work hours and strong time management abilities.
  • Capability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Expertise in color matching and management.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles and coatings application.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and project management.
  • Negotiation skills and Haz-Mat training.
  • Experience working with two-component coatings and isocyanates.
