SUMMARY

The role of the Production Control Assistant Manager is to oversee and integrate activities within the Production Control Department, ensuring effective support for ongoing programs and the initiation of new projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to all team members within the Production Control Department.
  • Updating upper management on departmental progress and project statuses.
  • Analyzing inventory levels and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Identifying potential issues or irregularities and establishing effective countermeasures.
  • Facilitating training and development of Standard Work Instructions, alongside the implementation of the JD Edwards Computer System.
  • Developing, maintaining, and auditing all necessary Standard Work Instructions to comply with ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
  • Enhancing team member skills through training and instruction.
  • Ensuring awareness and understanding of environmental policies and management systems through required training.
  • Executing all tasks in alignment with EMS procedures to minimize environmental impact.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Control Assistant Manager supervises all personnel within the Production Control department, managing performance and hiring processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong planning and scheduling methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to mentor and lead team members effectively.
  • Knowledge of TPS is advantageous.
  • Experience in a Just-In-Time (JIT) automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience and training.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals, alongside strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in writing routine reports and effective communication before groups is essential.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is required. Familiarity with the JDE system is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills are necessary, including the ability to perform operations with positive and negative numbers, express numbers as decimals, and convert between percentages and whole numbers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to address practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in various formats.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements for this position include regular communication, frequent sitting, standing, and walking, as well as the ability to lift and move items of varying weights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position typically operates in an office setting with moderate noise levels.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time role, with standard hours from Monday to Friday.
