Role Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Care Specialist to join our esteemed team at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. Current Incentives:

Position Responsibilities:

As a Registered Respiratory Care Specialist, you will assess the respiratory needs of patients and develop and implement effective Respiratory Care Plans. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and managing acute care ventilators for both short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
  • Demonstrating self-direction in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
  • Maintaining accurate departmental and hospital records, ensuring proper documentation in the hospital's computer system.
  • Performing all procedures with compassion and care for our patients.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Graduation from a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and moving equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including effective listening.
