The primary role of the Respiratory Therapist is to assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory or other cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Deliver respiratory care in accordance with physician directives and established protocols.
- Engage in the formulation and/or execution of patient care strategies.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations as well as accepted professional standards.
- Foster positive customer relations; maintain professional communication with management, colleagues, facility personnel, patients, and their families.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy methods and objectives.
- Accurately prepare and maintain patient documentation.
