Role Overview

The RMS Investment Management (IM) Team plays a pivotal role in managing client investment portfolios, delivering investment modeling and analysis to support these initiatives. This team is charged with formulating investment strategies and representing RMS's actions as both a property and investment manager to our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Direct the flagship open-ended $1 billion comingled Evergreen Fund, engaging with investors and spearheading strategic planning initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Enhance the success of the IM team by leading initiatives aimed at improving investment performance and client service.
  • Investment Strategy Development: Identify strategies to optimize operational and investment performance, incorporating investor feedback into actionable management plans.
  • Client Reporting: Oversee the creation and delivery of regular and ad-hoc reporting for significant Separately Managed Account (SMA) relationships, ensuring clarity and comprehensibility in communications.
  • Asset Valuation Oversight: Manage third-party asset valuation processes for U.S. investments, including the selection and approval of appraisers.
  • Portfolio Construction: Collaborate with the acquisitions team and other RMS departments to devise and implement acquisition strategies for U.S. portfolios.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Contribute to the asset and portfolio planning processes, including scenario testing and objective analysis.
  • Capital Formation Leadership: Provide guidance and support for the strategy to attract new investor capital.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in asset management, mergers and acquisitions, or portfolio management.
  • Preferred experience in timberland investment; candidates with backgrounds in institutional investment platforms in real estate or other asset classes will also be considered.
  • A four-year degree in natural resources, business, economics, or finance is required.
  • Advanced degrees in business, finance, or a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation are highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to engage with clients and oversee assets.
