Position Overview:


The Senior Vice President of Operations plays a critical role in ensuring the operational success of the organization, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This executive position is responsible for overseeing the operational framework that supports sustainable growth and efficiency.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the SVP of Operations will lead the nonclinical research and business development sectors, collaborating closely with department leaders to facilitate daily operations and enhance employee productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Partner with the COO to define and implement the organizational vision and operational strategy.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across all profit and loss centers.
- Establish ambitious yet achievable performance metrics and objectives for the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure funding and develop strategies for business expansion.
- Ensure alignment between scientific initiatives and effective business execution for both new and existing lines of business.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of the preclinical business operations.
- Develop and present strategic and tactical plans, budgets, and forecasts to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
- Enhance daily operations and administrative processes for maximum efficiency.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and high performance, ensuring that team members are supported in achieving organizational goals.

- Guide business units in delivering services while adopting best practices and innovative approaches to process improvement.
- Establish metrics and standards to evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Set objectives for operational efficiency and productivity across business units.
- Implement policies and procedures that streamline daily operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Allocate resources strategically based on business priorities.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and partners.
- Manage budgets and costs to meet financial objectives within subordinate units.
- Facilitate collaboration among operations and business units to enhance workflow and reduce costs.

- Communicate changes in policies or procedures effectively to the operations team, maintaining morale and clarity.
- Improve customer satisfaction through effective policy and procedural adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant business regulations and take necessary actions when required.
- Cultivate strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Represent the organization positively to employees, customers, and the broader community.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field with extensive experience in preclinical drug discovery and business development.
- Proven track record in a senior leadership capacity.

- In-depth knowledge of operational functions and principles, including strategy execution and customer service.
