Position: Senior Vice President of Veteran Services

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Job Overview

The Senior Vice President of Veteran Services will oversee the operational framework of the Veteran Services program within the Community Initiatives division. This role requires collaboration with Directors to establish operational protocols, set performance benchmarks, and ensure fiscal accountability while monitoring team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all funding regulations at local, state, and federal levels, including compliance with CARF standards.
  • Lead and manage regional program operations to achieve financial objectives across designated areas.
  • Evaluate program outcomes to guarantee that targets are met by Program Directors and the Director of Veteran Care.
  • Guide the strategic planning and execution for programs in the assigned regions.
  • Facilitate both short-term and long-term planning to align with program objectives.
  • Assess performance metrics and maintain program certifications and accreditations.
  • Implement operational policies that align with departmental and organizational goals.

This position requires close collaboration with the CEO to ensure effective communication of critical information.

Engage with the Community Initiatives team to review budgets and monitor financial performance against established goals.

Assist the Vice President of Development and Compliance in the preparation of grant submissions.

Work in partnership with the Director of Compliance to uphold service standards.

  • Supervise personnel performance across the Veteran Services programs.
  • Represent the organization at community events and public speaking engagements as necessary.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Veteran Services offerings, standards, and requirements.

Oversee the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan for Veteran Services.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills & Competencies

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation abilities.

Strong understanding of human services and grant management processes.

Ability to foster respect and trust among staff and stakeholders.

Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Highly organized, self-driven, and results-oriented.

Education & Experience

Master's Degree in a relevant social services field is preferred.

Licensure is preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of management experience in a human services environment.

Demonstrated success in managing personnel and programs effectively.

Experience in grant management is preferred.

Requirements:

Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Must be insurable under the organization's liability policy.

Compliance with state automobile insurance regulations.

Background checks will be conducted, including criminal record checks, drug screening, and TB testing.

This role may require occasional after-hours work and travel as needed.
