Position Overview
As a vital member of our team, you will respond to service requests to assess, troubleshoot, and execute repairs and scheduled maintenance on intricate biomedical devices. Your role is essential in fostering customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery. You may also take on responsibilities as a Site Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to biomedical equipment, performing necessary repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections while ensuring strong customer relationships.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on GE policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure timely resolution of issues and effective follow-up, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Implement GE and customer facility agreements while supporting organizational objectives.
  • Mentor and assist fellow technicians in both basic and advanced repair tasks.
  • Work collaboratively within the local team to ensure efficient service delivery across all assigned accounts, including task delegation and administrative responsibilities.
  • Actively engage with team members to share knowledge, provide assistance, and promote best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Accurately document all repair activities and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of tools, spare parts, and testing equipment, including calibration checks.
  • Oversee the inventory of approved parts.
  • Manage vendor service processes in alignment with GE policies as directed.
  • Continuously enhance technical expertise regarding current standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical devices through formal training.
  • May assume the role of site leader, directing the activities of fellow technicians, engaging in customer interactions, and participating in safety committees.
  • Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety regulations, and all other relevant legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 4 years of experience in medical equipment service;
  • Alternatively, equivalent military training and 4 years of experience in servicing medical devices;
  • Or a High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in electronic documentation using technological tools (e.g., iPad, iPhone) and familiar with software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers at all levels, including healthcare professionals and leadership.
  • Experience in collaborating with both internal teams and external clients as part of a service-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to customers in an easily understandable manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to develop solutions through effective problem-solving.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must possess the ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend the neck, and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity.
