Ideal Candidate Profile:

We encourage applicants who may not meet all qualifications to still consider applying, as we value diverse skills and experiences.

  • An associate's degree in a technical or electronics field, or equivalent military training, is required; alternatively, two years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Technical Certification (CBET) is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering context is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel based on business needs.
  • Proficient computer skills, including system administration, error code interpretation, hard drive defragmentation, power supply replacement, and computer code interpretation.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position Overview:

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance verification of complex biomedical equipment with minimal oversight. The technician should be adept in utilizing all necessary testing equipment and tools for these tasks. The BMET II will also provide technical guidance to medical and clinical personnel regarding the safe operation and utilization of clinical equipment. Additionally, this role involves assisting in the development of specifications for selecting new clinical equipment.
