Position Overview:
  • As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of automated material handling systems on Punch Press, Laser, Press Brake, and Shearing equipment at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expertly troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and optical systems.
  • Accurately interpret layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
  • Maintain electronic systems, with experience in PLCs being advantageous.
  • Complete daily status reports and weekly expense reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer support and foster positive relationships.
  • Oversee the entire equipment process at customer sites, including both corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Provide technical support and training to service engineers and clients, both onsite and via phone.
  • Report directly to the Area Service Manager.

Required Skills:
  • A minimum of two years of technical education, military training, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Proficient in analyzing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, Volt/Ohm Meters, Oscilloscopes, Calipers, and Digital Multimeters, with a working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Travel and Training Requirements:
  • Initially, the Service Technician will undergo training at headquarters and in the field, with significant travel during the first nine months to gain certification on the machinery alongside other technicians and area managers. Post-training, travel will shift to a more regional focus.

Compensation and Benefits: The position offers a highly competitive base salary, with overtime compensation applicable after the first eight hours of work each day at a rate of 1.5 times the regular pay. Additional benefits include a monthly car allowance, mileage reimbursement, a cell phone, a laptop, tools, and a uniform. The Service Technician will be required to travel overnight, with per diem allowances and hotel expenses covered directly by the company. A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including major medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.
