Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician

Position Overview
Responsible for addressing service requests to assess, troubleshoot, and execute repairs and scheduled maintenance on intricate biomedical devices utilized by clients. Aims to enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery. May also take on the role of Site Supervisor as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess complex biomedical equipment challenges, apply suitable repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, and perform safety/environmental evaluations while fostering positive customer relationships.
- Guide team members on relevant GE policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, ensuring accurate documentation is completed.
- Initiate and maintain proactive daily communication with clients to guarantee issue resolution and appropriate follow-up, thereby strengthening customer relations and satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and team members.
- Implement GE/customer facility agreements and support organizational goals and objectives.
- Mentor and assist technicians in both basic and advanced repair tasks.
- Operate as part of a local team to ensure efficient service delivery across all accounts within the designated area, including task delegation and administrative responsibilities.
- Actively reach out to team members to provide assistance, share best practices, and offer mentorship.
- Participate in on-call duties as required.
- Record all repair activities and submit reports/summaries as per the established schedule.
- Ensure proper maintenance of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment, including calibration checks.
- Maintain an approved inventory of parts.
- Oversee vendor service delivery processes in accordance with GE policies, as directed.
- Continuously enhance and update technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures related to the safe and effective operation of medical equipment through formal training.
- May assume the role of site supervisor, directing the activities of fellow BMETs assigned to the site, engaging in interactive customer relationships, collaborating with customer leadership, and participating in safety committees.
- Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety standards, and all other applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 4 years of experience in servicing medical equipment;
- OR equivalent military training and 4 years of experience in servicing medical equipment;
- OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of experience in servicing medical equipment.
- Proficient in utilizing electronic documentation tools (e.g., iPad, iPhone) and familiar with software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective customer relationships at all levels (e.g., nursing staff, physicians, leadership).
- Experience in collaborating with both internal team members and external clients as part of a solution-oriented service process.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical issues to clients in an easily understandable manner.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to implement solutions through effective problem-solving.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. without assistance and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.
- Must also be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and possess good hand and finger dexterity.
