Job Summary

Vaco is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice Management: Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
  • Invoice Assembly and Review: Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment.
  • Document Maintenance: Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence necessary for files.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Type periodic reports and other records.
  • Vendor Information: Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments.
  • Vendor File Management: Check vendor files for any previous payments and assign voucher numbers.
  • Voucher Preparation: Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts, and coding per accounting policies and procedures.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements.
  • Bookkeeping and Record Keeping: Input daily bookkeeping and record keeping.
  • Invoice Verification: Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors.
Requirements
  • Technical Accounting Experience: Technical accounting experience, someone who deals with debits and credits and has knowledge of AP.
  • Microsoft Excel: Microsoft Excel experience, as they receive a lot of reports via Excel and have to manipulate to put into NetSuite.
  • Attention to Detail: Attentive to detail (not just checking boxes).
  • Organizational Skills: Organized and ability to rein in chaos. They deal with a lot of cash and bank accounts, so want someone who has the ability to not only be organized but to implement efficiencies and best practices.
  • Small/Mid-Sized Company Accounting/AP Experience: Small/Mid-Sized company accounting/AP experience.
  • Drive and Willingness to Grow: Someone with drive and willingness to grow.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NetSuite Experience: NetSuite experience, but not required.
