JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant oversees and evaluates the daily operations of the Accounting Department. This role is crucial in establishing the financial position of the company by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information to the Plant Controller. The Accountant collaborates closely with the financial management team to secure the company's financial stability.

Annual Salary:
$50k-$65k

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Manage plant accounts payable functions, reporting, and monitoring received but not invoiced balances. Collaborate with vendors, purchasing, and receiving departments to enhance processes.

2. Prepare weekly plant billing and associated workpapers.

3. Conduct daily production reconciliations and generate reports.

4. Oversee weekly packaging reports.

5. Assist in managing the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, utilities, budget, and other departmental functions.

a. Coordinate and finalize annual audits.

b. Establish and uphold proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

c. Enhance systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions as necessary.

d. Supervise the general ledger to ensure compliance with all financial deadlines.

e. Support budget and forecasting activities.

6. Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports or statements.

a. Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

b. Provide management with recommendations on financial strategies and plans.

c. Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and features to improve departmental workflow.

7. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

8. Train new and existing staff as required.

a. Guide staff on handling non-routine reporting transactions.

9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

§ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

§ Proven experience in accounting or finance, with 2-3 years of accounts payable experience preferred.

§ Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and database management.

§ Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.

§ Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

§ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

§ Excellent mathematical skills.

§ Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.

§ Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

§ Professional demeanor and appearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

Sedentary office work, requiring prolonged periods of sitting.

HEARING:

Must be able to hear normal conversations and receive standard information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:

Frequent use of wrists, hands, and fingers is required.

VISUAL ABILITIES:
