The Regional Sales Leader at Shingle & Gibb Automation is tasked with engaging a designated group of clients, typically within a specific geographic region, to drive sales of the Company's offerings by addressing their industrial automation needs. This role involves reinforcing our market position and introducing innovative products to existing clients while also seeking new business opportunities. The Regional Sales Leader will demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction by surpassing their expectations and fostering robust relationships with both current and potential clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and embodies the Shingle & Gibb Core Values, Vision, policies, and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Exhibits proficiency with cutting-edge technologies and solutions in the field of industrial automation.
  • Engages in sales forecasting activities and strives to meet established performance objectives.
  • Utilizes the Company’s CRM system to document activities and opportunities in accordance with current policies.
  • Maintains potential sales tables for assigned accounts.
  • Generates and pursues leads in the region through various means including cold-calling, phone outreach, supplier referrals, and industry associations.
  • Creates and follows up on customer quotations, either directly or in collaboration with the Customer Service Team.
  • Aims to exceed customer expectations and build strong relationships with both current and prospective clients.
  • Develops and sustains solid partnerships with suppliers and their representatives in the region.
  • Schedules and documents collaborative sales calls with suppliers.
  • In conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, participates in supplier training events to maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
  • Coordinates training sessions for customers on products manufactured by suppliers.
  • Conducts product demonstrations with a high level of skill and technical knowledge.
  • Participates in promotional events, client entertainment, and other activities as required.
  • Attends Sales Team Meetings as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Effectively manages expenses and submits accurate expense reports promptly.
  • Promotes and embodies the Shingle & Gibb Core Values, policies, and procedures throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Trade School Certificate in an engineering or technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Outside Sales experience is required; 5 years is preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in the automation industry is preferred.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer/client satisfaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Work Environment:
  • This role is part of the Outside Sales Department, with work conducted both in an office setting and in the field. The Regional Sales Leader is expected to schedule appointments to qualify new accounts and opportunities or to enhance relationships with existing customers. Travel is required, and the Outside Sales Team may encounter various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential job functions:
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand for long durations with frequent walking in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, and may have manufacturing-related odors.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
  • Use of safety equipment may be required, including hard hats, vests, safety glasses, non-slip and/or steel-toed shoes, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Travel Requirements:

The Regional Sales Leader position necessitates one day per week in an office environment, with the remaining four days spent in the field visiting customer sites. Most travel will occur locally, but overnight travel may be necessary for supplier training and other commitments. Expect a minimum of 25 nights of travel per year.

Compensation Overview:

The anticipated salary for this role starts at $80,000 - $100,000 annually. This position is also eligible for commission based on specific business metrics. Employees will receive three weeks of vacation within the first year, along with sick days and holidays. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, vision plans, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, and a 401(k) savings plan.
