Position Overview

The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health is seeking a dedicated Educational Resource Coordinator to enhance the learning experience for students from Pre-K through 6th grade. This role is pivotal in fostering an inclusive educational environment that promotes collaboration, diverse perspectives, and reflective learning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the Response to Instruction (RTI) framework tailored to diverse learning needs for children aged 4-12.
  • Develop engaging follow-up practices for various age groups and learning levels.
  • Facilitate communication with families to encourage engagement and support for the RTI program.
  • Utilize the classroom setting to nurture the holistic development of each child.
  • Collaborate with the Child Support Team to enhance the Multi-Tiered System of Support at UCLA Lab School.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor progress in literacy and mathematics to identify appropriate support mechanisms.
  • Act as a case manager for students requiring learning accommodations.
  • Organize and lead student support team meetings.
  • Coordinate communication among students, families, and educational professionals, providing regular updates on student progress.
  • Consult with educators and families regarding the unique learning needs of students, recommending tailored accommodations and strategies.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized learning plans and modifications.
  • Deliver direct instructional support to students as needed.
  • Observe and assess students facing academic or behavioral challenges to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in classroom instruction, focusing on students needing additional support or enrichment.
  • Develop comprehensive instructional plans with clear objectives for identified students.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and communications.
  • Facilitate training sessions on inclusive practices for faculty and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • California State Teaching Credential or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent, Special Education teaching credential, and 5+ years of teaching experience.
  • Experience with inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction.
