Role Description
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will report directly to the Human Resources Manager. Your role is crucial in adding value to our organization and promoting our mission by executing your responsibilities with integrity and respect. Confidentiality is paramount in this position, and you will provide a range of administrative and clerical support to the Administration team.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties
- Manage daily mail operations, including pick-up, distribution, and preparation of outgoing mail.
- Provide front office support, including visitor direction, phone call routing, and assistance with office equipment.
- Support the Chief Administrative Officer and Human Resources Team with various projects.
- Maintain an organized inventory of office supplies and fulfill orders as necessary.
- Deliver general administrative assistance, including correspondence preparation, meeting arrangements, and document filing.
- Assist in managing applicant tracking and provide support regarding the Applicant Tracking System.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for candidates throughout the application process.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of new Corpsmember personnel files and eligibility documents.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee matters and organizational changes.
- Coordinate logistics for recruitment programs, including scheduling and material preparation.
- Support community events and job fairs to promote the Corps and attract new participants.
- Assist in the recruitment process by evaluating potential applicants.
- Participate in preliminary interviews for entry-level positions.
- Maintain I-9 documentation for all new hires.
- Facilitate the post-offer process and new hire orientation sessions.
- Coordinate with external vendors for onboarding preparations.
- Manage new hire information entry into the payroll system.
- Attend and support team meetings and committee gatherings.
- Assist in organizing training events and recommend resources for staff development.
- Provide support to the Director of Administration and Human Resources Manager as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in human resources.
Additional Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screening.
- Pass a background clearance check.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License if using a personal vehicle for company purposes.
- Reference checks will be conducted.
- Hourly rate: $22.29 - $27.44, based on experience and education.
- This part-time role includes vacation and sick leave.
