Role Summary:
Southeast New Mexico College is inviting applications for a full-time faculty role in Electrical Technology. The selected candidate will instruct courses in Electrical Technology and related disciplines based on their expertise.

The faculty member in this role will be responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, delivery, and assessment of classroom instruction and associated activities to foster student-centered learning and achievement.

Related activities include instruction, maintaining office hours, participating in various committees, and demonstrating a commitment to professional growth through engagement in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.


Position Requirements:


The faculty member will be assigned to teach on a 9-month contract, covering 15 credit hours per semester (or equivalent) of 100 and 200-level courses.

They will maintain regular office hours in accordance with the policies outlined in the Faculty Manual. Teaching responsibilities include effectively instructing a diverse student population, conducting ongoing assessments of courses, and developing new courses.

College service commitments involve participating in professional development activities and serving on various committees to benefit Southeast New Mexico College.

Faculty may be assigned to teach weekend and evening classes, as well as online courses. They will evaluate student performance and instructional methods using the college's established assessment system.

Faculty members will also serve on various governance committees and task forces to enhance institutional/instructional efficiency and promote a culture of learning.

Collaboration with other departments regarding interdisciplinary projects, campus events, and instructional training is expected. Attendance at scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, required training, and committee meetings is mandatory. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

As this position requires in-person teaching and other faculty responsibilities, candidates must reside within commuting distance of Southeast New Mexico College.


Key Duties:
Deliver classroom instruction that aligns with the learning outcomes of Electrical Technology courses.
Availability to teach weekends and evenings as required.
Participation in professional development activities, including obtaining and maintaining industry-recognized certifications required by the curriculum (e.g., National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) instructor certification).
Evaluate student performance and instructional methods using the college's established assessment system.

Serve on various governance committees and task forces to enhance institutional/instructional efficiency and support a culture of learning.

Maintain regular office hours as per the Faculty Manual.
Collaborate with other departments on interdisciplinary projects, campus events, and instructional training.
Attend scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, required training, and committee meetings.
