Senior Electrical Project Superintendent

Position Overview: The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, and management of specific construction craft activities within EPC projects. This role includes assisting in the formulation of execution plans and overseeing the development and implementation of craft work packaging.
Compensation Details: The compensation package includes Per Diem, which will be determined on a project-by-project basis. Travel arrangements and a company vehicle will be provided when applicable. Further details can be found in the Samuel EPC Employee Exempt Handbook.
Salary Structure: The salary rate is fixed for each project and will not increase based on additional hours worked. Different pay rates apply for Home Office assignments compared to field assignments.
Work Schedule: The work schedule varies by location, and candidates must have flexible availability throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Construction Manager, Site Safety Representative, and Site Quality Representative to implement and uphold project safety and quality standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction activities of site foremen, craft employees, and field engineers on assigned projects.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of respective craft specifications to ensure a successful craft department.
- Effectively communicate equipment, material, and personnel needs for successful project execution.
- Engage with project stakeholders, including the Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, client representatives, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Review design constructability with the project team to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
- Participate in establishing project schedules and resolving any scheduling conflicts while ensuring quality, safety, budget, and performance standards are met.
- Represent the company during bid processes, project scope development, client meetings, and project management discussions.
- Maintain precise standards of accuracy in all work.
- Assist in tracking construction flow, personnel manning, budgets, and safety and quality objectives.
- Provide timely updates on work progress and forecast material or personnel needs.
- Communicate effectively with other superintendents and site management regarding site needs and challenges.
Compliance: Adhere to company policies as outlined in the Samuel EPC Exempt Employee Handbook, Human Resources Policy Manual, and Safety Manual, including OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects, such as refineries, petrochemical complexes, and power plants.
- Familiarity with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements applicable to industrial construction projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with project team members, craft employees, clients, and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage craft employees, budgets, and construction schedules effectively.
- Proficiency in current construction technologies, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF modification tools like Bluebeam or Adobe.
- Capability to obtain necessary state construction licenses if required.
- Previous hands-on experience as a job foreman is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Capability to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, scaffolds, and other structures while carrying tools and equipment.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
- Good vision, either naturally or with correction.
- Strong eye-hand coordination and physical fitness.
- Good balance and ability to work at heights.
