About the Permian Basin

Covering an area comparable to Kansas, the Permian Basin, located in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, is the most productive oil and gas region in the United States and a key driver of the nation's energy growth. It contributes approximately 40% of the country's oil and 15% of its gas production, playing a vital role in establishing the U.S. as a prominent energy exporter.
As a crucial asset for ExxonMobil, the Basin accounted for around 40% of the Corporation's net oil and gas output in the U.S. in 2021, with significant potential for future expansion. Production exceeded 550,000 barrels per day in 2022 and is projected to surpass 800,000 barrels per day in the coming years. Many of these resources are transported to ExxonMobil's facilities along the Gulf of Mexico, where they are converted into high-value end products such as jet fuel and lubricants. The Permian Basin business unit is also notable for being the first at ExxonMobil to implement a plan for achieving net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in operated assets by 2030, aligning with the Corporation's broader ambition for net zero by 2050.
Approximately 800 employees of ExxonMobil's Unconventional business line reside and work in Midland, Odessa, Carlsbad, and surrounding areas, all of which provide easy access to national parks and exceptional outdoor recreational activities. Your Role in Our Team
  • As an Electrician, you will be a technical expert responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • You will ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes to uphold safety standards.
  • Your work may take place in various facilities, job sites, and directly with clients.
About You
  • Prior experience in a related role, ideally within the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Possession of EE98J - Low Voltage Journeyman certification in New Mexico or the ability to transfer from another state.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to articulate field conditions clearly and suggest appropriate remediation measures.
  • Team-oriented: Demonstrates effective collaboration with colleagues, even without direct authority, and a willingness to support others.
  • Capacity to adapt to tight deadlines, substantial workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
