Commercial Roofing Cost Estimator and Project Coordinator

We are thrilled to collaborate with a premier Roofing Firm in the Kansas City area, known for its extensive range of projects and a strong market presence. They are seeking a proficient Commercial Roofing Cost Estimator or a capable Project Coordinator.

The Cost Estimator is responsible for formulating initial project budgets and crafting formal bids by analyzing blueprints, executing take-offs, and assessing job expenses. The Estimator/Project Coordinator also engages with clients and their representatives to ensure that technical specifications and designs are practical and adhere to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Creating precise and comprehensive project estimates.
  • Determining project labor, material, and time needs by reviewing proposals, blueprints, written specifications, and related documents.
  • Conducting site assessments and participating in pre-bid meetings to grasp project scope.
  • Reviewing and taking off blueprints.
  • Requesting bids from subcontractors.
  • Collecting subcontractor pricing and performing scope evaluations.
  • Assessing subcontractor bids against bid documents and plans to ensure all work scope is addressed.
  • Evaluating subcontractors' capacity to execute the work.
  • Calculating costs associated with subcontract labor, general conditions, and materials.
  • Collaborating with clients to assist them in achieving their project budget through careful consideration of plan details, alternative materials/finishes, and construction methods.
  • Working closely with Project Coordinators, Superintendents, and the Pre-Construction team to nurture relationships with existing clients and subcontractors.
  • Generating Profit and Loss reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Roofing Estimation.
  • Proficient understanding of commercial roofing documentation.
  • General contracting knowledge.
  • Ability to draft and review contracts.
  • Familiarity with EDGE estimating software is advantageous.
  • A degree in Construction, Engineering, or Business is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, construction processes, and theories.
  • Capability to identify, rectify, and report unsafe conditions in accordance with company and OSHA standards.

Compensation: $70k-$100k
