Key Responsibilities

The Director of Practice Management (DPM) will oversee the clinical leadership teams at Dental Associates. They will set objectives and targets within their designated clinics and service lines that align with the annual strategic plan. The DPM will provide guidance on operations, staffing, human resources, patient experience, safety, and compliance.

  • Operational Oversight Lead Practice Managers in sustaining a high-performing clinic as defined by metrics established by the leadership team. Collaborate with the Chief of Operations to create meaningful reports, analyze resulting data, identify inefficiencies, and implement new procedures for clinics. Provide oversight, direction, and resources to facilitate operational projects from inception through completion. Work closely with clinical leadership and managers to ensure business practices in our clinics support compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and patient confidentiality. Establish individual performance goals for Practice Managers aligned with the strategic plan and annual objectives, tailored to the specific needs of each clinic, staff, and patients. Offer professional development opportunities, ongoing coaching, and training to Practice Managers to meet expectations. Monitor the budget and manage the complaint resolution process at each location, identifying trends and collaborating to ensure proactive monitoring of operational initiatives.
  • Coordination and Communication Maintain active communication and strong working relationships with all referral sources. Collaborate interactively with clinical leadership to ensure quality of services and maintain effective relationships with Dental Associates staff, doctors, and management.
  • Professional Development
    • Complete and maintain compliance with all required training and education for the position.
    • Attend community education events and seminars to enhance expertise in the field and foster professional relationships.
    • Participate in relevant team meetings, committees, service lines, and other continuing education/training.

Position Details

  • This position oversees our Central Region, which includes multiple clinics.
  • This is an in-clinic role with a schedule of approximately one day per week at each location.
  • The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling 40 hours per week. General availability between 7 AM and 6 PM is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of practice management experience in a clinical or primary care setting; or a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of practice management experience.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed established metrics for this organizational level or position.
  • Strong capability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent supervisory skills and exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship-building, communication, listening, negotiation, and diplomacy.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team-building abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to conceptualize from a systematic perspective.
  • Active participation in performance management and coaching.
  • Proficiency in relevant operating systems and ability to operate various office equipment.
  • Capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences, adjusting communication practices to minimize misunderstandings.
  • Diligence in preventing, detecting, and reporting unethical conduct by colleagues.
  • Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that meets organizational guidelines.
  • Reliable transportation to oversee multiple clinics and attend training or meetings.
  • A positive work ethic.
