Job OverviewPosition Summary

Abnormal Security is on the lookout for a Senior Sales Solutions Engineer to enhance our expanding Sales Engineering division. In this role, you will act as the primary technical liaison for our clients, developing strategic business proposals to engage customers and assist them in overcoming their most challenging email security issues.

Working closely with Enterprise Account Executives, you will be tasked with delivering both in-person and virtual product demonstrations, effectively communicating the technical advantages of Abnormal Security solutions, and ensuring successful outcomes for Proof of Value initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Capability to connect technology with business results and demonstrate value
  • Skill in influencing audiences in both virtual and face-to-face settings
  • High emotional intelligence; adept at reading situations, engaging stakeholders, and responding empathetically
  • Proficiency in creating compelling, value-driven presentations and narrating the story behind them (PowerPoint, Google Slides)
  • Aptitude for identifying and understanding customer pain points, requirements, and objectives
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical sales authority throughout the pre-sales process, including managing proofs-of-value (POV) outcomes and ensuring their success, co-managing customer relationships with Enterprise Account Executives, and delivering technical demonstrations
  • Provide technical pre-sales assistance for designated Enterprise Account Executives
  • Support Enterprise Account Executives in formulating and executing sales goals and account-based strategies
  • Conduct thorough technical and competitive research to effectively address customer inquiries
  • Serve as a technical resource for pre-sales security and platform evaluations
  • Educate sales teams and partners on the offerings, platform, and security measures of Abnormal Security
  • Consistently drive customer satisfaction
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales engineering
  • Technical expertise in messaging and internet security concepts
  • Strong grasp of internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, DNS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with network topology, TCP/IP protocols, and network components (firewalls, routers, etc.)
  • Previous experience in selling software solutions to large enterprises
  • Exceptional technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to perceive and present the overarching picture, identify business challenges, and design solutions to address customer needs
  • Capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive demeanor, customer-centric approach, and a strong sense of accountability for customer outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar are advantageous
