Significance of the Role

Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Saturday - Tuesday)

Role Overview: The Patient Admission Specialist II is tasked with ensuring the precise and prompt completion of patient admissions, which includes collecting demographic information, verifying insurance, and entering this data into the TDS System. This role involves creating the patient's financial file, securing necessary signatures, and providing essential hospital information to patients and their guardians. The specialist will interact with patients, third-party payers, and review organizations to confirm eligibility and authorization for hospital services. If needed, they will identify alternative financial resources for services and assist in processing Medi-Cal/CCS applications. Additionally, the specialist will meet with parents to clarify benefits, restrictions, or to arrange financial plans.

Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 2 years of prior registration experience is preferred, along with 6 months of experience in insurance verification. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are advantageous. High accuracy in data collection is highly valued, as are excellent communication abilities.

Education and Certification: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Compensation Information

$37,232.00-$61,953.00

CHLA appreciates the unique contributions of each team member.

The final decision regarding a candidate's starting salary will depend on various factors, including education and experience relevant to the role or industry.

The pay scale mentioned for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements outlined in this job description.

Additional compensation may be available for candidates who exceed these qualifications.
