Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Admissions Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects referral information from phone and in-person inquiries, ensuring all clinical and financial details are complete for admission committee review.
  • Verifies financial information accurately before patient admission to minimize accounts receivable issues.
  • Secures family commitment for tours on 80% of viable referrals and conducts professional tours with the assistance of clinical staff to encourage admissions.
  • Manages the admission process, explaining policies to patients and families, ensuring a seamless transition and completion of all necessary paperwork.
  • Leads daily admissions meetings with center staff to discuss referrals, admissions, and follow-ups, aiming to exceed a 65% conversion rate.
  • Communicates any referral source challenges to the Marketing Director during the referral process.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with referral sources.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Supports the overarching goals of the organization and the center.
  • Coordinates with the accounting office and marketing on billing issues.
  • Documents all relevant information accurately and promptly.
  • Keeps daily updates on the Marketing Information System, ensuring data integrity for report generation.
  • Participates in all required in-services and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of experience as an Admissions Director or Admissions Coordinator in a skilled nursing facility, subacute care, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
  • Professional telephone skills, capable of effectively managing referral calls to meet the needs of referral sources and families.
  • Sales experience, either inside or outside, is preferred.
  • Ability to engage with family members and conduct tours with a focus on closing admissions.
  • Proficient in using a marketing information system.
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medi-Cal guidelines is preferred.
