Patient Interaction:

  4. Maintain a polished appearance in accordance with the organization's dress code.
  5. Assist in directing patients and visitors to appropriate areas within the facility.

Communication Duties:

  1. Clearly explain hospital policies and services to patients and visitors, ensuring they feel informed and respected.
  2. Engage professionally with patients, families, healthcare providers, and staff to facilitate effective communication.
  3. Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing customer service and clerical responsibilities.
  4. Recognize situations that require escalation to management for resolution.
  5. Ensure accurate communication of patient information to the Registration Department for complete admission processing.

Administrative Functions:

  1. Collect and verify patient signatures on all necessary documentation to complete the admission process.
  2. Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  3. Compile and maintain comprehensive admission files for each patient, ensuring all required documents are included.
  4. Confirm insurance benefits and eligibility for each patient prior to admission.
  5. Notify relevant parties regarding patient admissions as required.
  6. Utilize patient identifiers to ensure accurate registration and safety protocols are followed.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  1. Support departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  2. Assist colleagues to enhance departmental operations and improve patient care processes.
  3. Complete required documentation and logs accurately at the end of each shift.
  4. Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions to maintain professional development.
Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. At least one year of experience in patient admissions or medical office settings preferred.
  3. Familiarity with medical terminology and third-party reimbursement processes.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  5. Ability to perform physical tasks related to patient care and office duties.
  6. Proficient in using computers and various office equipment.
  7. Completion of required training within the first 60 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:
