Position Overview

The Housing Support Services Supervisor oversees the team of supportive services coordinators at Ascend Housing Allies, providing both direct assistance and referrals to residents in affordable housing who face challenges in maintaining stable living conditions. This role involves managing coordinators across a designated portfolio of affordable housing properties, collaborating closely with property management, referral partners, and funding organizations to ensure residents receive the necessary support for housing stability and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team of Supportive Services Coordinators.
  • Deliver direct support and retention services to tenants with varying income levels and needs.
  • Coordinate with the Board of Directors to align with organizational objectives.
  • Initiate program development tasks, including grant writing and policy formulation.
  • Collaborate with property owners and management to streamline service delivery.
  • Identify and address unmet needs of residents in partnership with property management staff.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialized social service agencies as required.
  • Manage tenancy issues such as lease violations and rent arrears with residents.
  • Connect residents with financial resources to promote housing stability.
  • Encourage community engagement through events and communication strategies.
  • Conduct community needs assessments through surveys, focus groups, and meetings.
  • Participate in coordinated entry and homelessness prevention initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and track case portfolios in the database.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • Five to ten years of experience in supportive services for subsidized housing residents is desirable.
  • Experience supervising case managers is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable engaging with clients with a wide range of needs.
  • Organized, adaptable, and a strong team collaborator.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines professionally.
  • Independent worker with accountability to partners and team members.
  • Able to articulate challenges and propose viable solutions.
