The Program Assistant for Background Checks will oversee the execution of background checks for The Villages of Indiana, focusing on initial assessments, annual reviews, and re-licensure processes within the foster care sector.

This position demands a meticulous approach to ensure precision and thoroughness, ultimately contributing to the safety and welfare of children, families, and all clients engaged with the organization.

The role requires adherence to both contractual obligations and DCS standards while accurately documenting results in the designated agency systems.

This position aligns with the agency's mission, vision, goals, and objectives and offers the flexibility of hybrid or remote work arrangements, provided candidates are residents of Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct background checks for initial applications, annual reviews, and re-licensure, while monitoring the status of these checks to provide timely updates to regional offices.
  • Notify relevant supervisors and leadership regarding any discrepancies or histories in background checks that may affect qualifications.
  • Adhere to The Villages of Indiana's background check protocols in compliance with contractual and DCS requirements.
  • Maintain and update databases and records throughout the background check process.
  • Act as a backup for inquiries and assist with coverage as necessary.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in data entry.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in foster care and/or child welfare systems.
  • Familiarity with MyCase, KidsTraks, and the Sex Offender Registry.
  • Experience in database management and/or complex billing processes.
