Position Overview:
As a key member of the Ball State University team, the Custodial and Dining Services Team Leader plays a vital role in ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and customer satisfaction within our dining facilities.


Role Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, you will:
  • Lead and motivate a team to achieve excellence in service delivery and cleanliness.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in training new staff members.
  • Implement departmental policies and procedures effectively.
  • Coordinate the delivery of goods and manage departmental mail.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in food service or custodial work.
  • A valid For Hire Endorsement Driver's License and the ability to be insured under the university's auto fleet policy.
  • A valid Indiana alcohol service employee permit or the ability to obtain one promptly.
  • Strong comprehension skills for policies and procedures.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:
  • An associate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with effective team-building skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Successful candidates will undergo a background check and a driver's license verification.
