Key Requirements from Hiring Manager:

Expertise in Infrastructure Project Management is required.

Role Overview:

The Embedded Risk Specialist position serves as a first line of defense (FLOD) encompassing various business and functional units, including Product Management, Operations Management, and IT.

Engage and collaborate with the client’s Control Groups and Business FLODs to identify and evaluate inherent risks, control effectiveness, and residual risks.
Seek opportunities to enhance control effectiveness while simplifying processes without elevating residual risk.

Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage risks while coordinating with various entities for audits and supporting control-testing initiatives.
Provide guidance to SIFMU and RISK Delivery regarding self-identified findings and compliance with audit outcomes.

About the Role:

This technical ERM role is responsible for delivering specialized support for the ERM and application development teams across the organization.

Coordinate responses to various control functions and Product Management to align with business priorities.
Ensure governance and process support for the division while maintaining adherence to internal development protocols.
Collaborate with other Embedded Risk Managers to identify best practices and ensure compliance with standard processes.
Document processes for internal and external audits, compliance, risk management, and technology assessments using the Process Risks and Controls (PRC) Framework.
Partner with control functions to facilitate audits and assessments; manage Management Self-Identified (MSI) issues and oversee the Issue Management process.
Conduct Management Testing to evaluate control effectiveness and document findings.
Review standards, policies, and procedures while performing rationalization per compliance guidelines.
Support the development and maintenance of system-level documentation.
Conduct sustainability assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory, business, and compliance requirements while identifying solutions to address control gaps.
Lead departmental initiatives related to budget reporting.

Technical Qualifications:

Experience in governance, risk, and controls is necessary.
Expertise in Infrastructure Project Management is required.

The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud hosting, virtual environments, and data management.
Facilitate technical discussions with stakeholders to identify, quantify, and document program risks.
Exercise sound judgment in evaluating IT risks and mitigation strategies.
Independently assess potential downstream impacts of mission-critical decisions.
Effectively challenge the identification and acceptance of risks to ensure thorough documentation.
Conduct gap assessments of proposed risk mitigation strategies and guide stakeholders towards comprehensive remediation strategies addressing root causes.
Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for diverse stakeholders.

Act as a key Technical Advisor in articulating the portfolio of IT Risks and communicate challenges to ERMs, application development teams, and senior management.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to influence without direct authority.
Proficient in conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.
Proactive approach with strong follow-through.
Ability to prioritize urgent tasks in a fast-paced IT environment.
Experience in governance, risk, and compliance projects.
Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies, with Scrum Master experience preferred.
Ability to navigate risks in complex situations.
Proven teamwork and collaboration skills in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.
Highly motivated to contribute and grow in a dynamic area of emerging importance.
Exemplary organizational, time management, problem-solving, prioritization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and within time/budget constraints.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across multiple IT operational and security disciplines.

Experience in reporting status to management.
