The objective is to play a crucial role within the Commercial Lines division, collaborating with Advisors, Directors of Risk Management, Client Service Specialists, and other agency members to provide exceptional service to our commercial clientele. This role involves fostering professional relationships with clients, insurance providers, and agency staff to sustain accounts and encourage a constructive work atmosphere.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately and consistently maintain client records in the Agency Management System; ensure proper documentation and communication in line with company workflows, procedures, and best practices.
  • Draft professional business communications through letters, emails, and other channels.
  • Perform accounting and mathematical functions, including invoicing and premium allocation, as necessary.
  • Oversee claims in accordance with agency protocols. Relay claims information to relevant parties within the agency and keep claims data current in the system. Provide guidance and support to clients in coordination with claims.
  • Effectively interact with colleagues by utilizing strong communication skills, cooperating intentionally, and providing necessary information and guidance to meet company objectives.
  • Participate in client meetings alongside the Advisor or Director of Risk Management, as requested.
  • Support team members in addressing client inquiries or processing tasks when required.
  • Manage daily operations of client accounts, including policy reviews, updates, contract assessments for certificate processing, preparing renewal documents, marketing and negotiating insurance solutions, filing surplus lines, and reviewing leases and financial statements related to client insurance.
  • Respond to client inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely service and follow-up for the insured.
  • Advise clients on coverage and exposure, recommending and securing additional coverage as necessary.
  • Proactively seek referrals from the existing client base to identify new business opportunities; follow up to generate new leads using the prospect database and automation systems.
  • Develop strong relationships with insurance company partners, understanding carrier requirements and characteristics.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Exhibit effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communication.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional relevant software.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the firm's core values and corporate culture through behavior.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Acquire and maintain state insurance licenses as mandated by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions in states where the firm operates (or be willing to obtain all necessary licenses within the first 90 days of employment).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Commercial Account Manager capacity.
OTHER:
  • Work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Travel may be required.
