POSITION OBJECTIVE

Covenant House Missouri (CHMO) is dedicated to providing a safe haven for youth who are runaway, trafficked, at-risk, or experiencing homelessness. We offer unconditional support and a nurturing environment to help young individuals aged 16 to 24 develop independent and sustainable lives.

This role serves as the primary point of contact at Covenant House Missouri, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for clients and visitors. Responsibilities include engaging with clients and visitors, managing inquiries, and maintaining security protocols. The incumbent will also assist non-residential youth in accessing essential support services, including scheduling appointments and providing referrals to community resources.

Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM - additional hours may be available

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Front Desk Management
  • Greet and assist all incoming visitors, clients, and staff promptly and courteously.
  • Handle incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel and taking messages as needed.
  • Ensure facility security by monitoring surveillance systems and alerting staff to any potential threats.
  • Maintain a consistent presence at the front desk, coordinating time away with supervisors as necessary.
  • Manage the entry and exit of employees, visitors, and clients in accordance with established policies.
  • Build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries with all visitors, clients, and staff.
  • Conduct security checks of client belongings as per established protocols and utilize detection devices to prevent unauthorized items from entering restricted areas.
  • Assist in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities.
Youth Engagement
  • Foster positive relationships with clients while upholding professional boundaries.
  • Facilitate access to basic needs such as showers, laundry, and food pantry services.
  • Provide information and referrals to public or private agencies and community services for additional support.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviors and coping strategies for youth, employing a strength-based approach in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to:
    • Determine optimal service delivery methods for youth in the Employment Program.
    • Promote a Trauma-Informed culture through service planning and daily interactions, advocating for youth based on their individual needs.
  • Model positive behaviors and coping strategies, utilizing principles of Trauma-Informed Care and Positive Youth Development.
Additional Duties
  • Build collaborative relationships with team members to foster trust and confidence.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions and team meetings.
  • Adhere to all organizational and legal protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with agency policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma required. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred.
