POSITION OVERVIEW

Covenant House Missouri (CHMO) is dedicated to providing a safe haven for youth who are runaway, trafficked, at-risk, or experiencing homelessness. Our mission extends beyond offering shelter and basic necessities; we strive to empower young individuals aged 16 to 24 to lead productive, independent, and sustainable lives.

The role serves as the primary point of contact at Covenant House Missouri, ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and visitors. Responsibilities include engaging with clients and visitors, managing inquiries, and maintaining security protocols. The position also involves assisting non-residential youth in accessing vital support services, which includes coordinating basic needs, scheduling appointments with support staff, and providing referrals to community resources as necessary.

WORKING HOURS: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM - additional hours may be available

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Front Desk Management
  • Greet and assist all incoming visitors, clients, and staff promptly and courteously.
  • Handle incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel and taking messages when needed.
  • Ensure the safety of the facility by monitoring surveillance systems and reporting any potential threats.
  • Maintain a constant presence at the front desk, coordinating time away with supervisors or team members.
  • Manage entry and exit of employees, visitors, and clients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries with all visitors, clients, and staff.
  • Conduct security checks of client belongings as per established procedures.
  • Assist in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities.
Youth Engagement
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with clients while upholding professional boundaries.
  • Facilitate access to essential services such as showers, laundry, and food pantry assistance.
  • Provide information or refer clients to relevant public or private agencies for additional support.
  • Exemplify positive behaviors and coping strategies for youth, employing a strength-based approach in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to:
    • Determine optimal service delivery methods for youth in the Employment Program.
    • Foster a Trauma-Informed culture through service planning and daily interactions, advocating for youth needs and preferences.
  • Model positive behaviors and coping skills for youth, integrating Trauma-Informed Care and Positive Youth Development principles.
Additional Duties
  • Build collaborative relationships with team members to foster trust and confidence.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions and team meetings.
  • Adhere to all organizational and legal protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with agency policies.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience preferred.
