Job Summary:

The selected candidate will participate in our upcoming sales training program. This role is responsible for promoting the company's products and services while fostering relationships with both new and existing clients. The primary objective is to assist Sysco customers in achieving success while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the organization. This position may involve working non-traditional hours to accommodate customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business, enhance existing accounts, and reduce lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and qualify prospects in line with company account goals.
  • Analyze customer business requirements and propose a tailored mix of products and services.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend products to clients based on their business objectives.
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitor offerings; share insights with clients as part of value-added services.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
  • Provide product information and practical training to client personnel.
  • Utilize personal vehicle for client visits, company meetings, and events.
  • Manage accounts receivable as necessary, collaborating with the credit department; ensure collection of all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Coordinate deliveries according to the transportation department's routing schedule; troubleshoot any issues that arise during the order process.
  • Engage in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and events.
  • Participate in general sales and district meetings.
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions.
  • Assist in training new employees as requested.
  • Review and analyze sales reports, special-order requests, and customer bid files.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining records, processing credits, and filing reports.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bi-Lingual candidates are preferred.

Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef is advantageous.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years).

Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits is required.

Requirements:

  • Must submit to pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check).
  • Must sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the territory.
