Job Overview

The Project Manager at Drost Landscape oversees the comprehensive management and execution of construction initiatives. This role serves as the primary liaison for new construction inquiries while also addressing the ongoing needs of current clients. Responsibilities encompass bidding, sales, planning, and ensuring that projects adhere to quality benchmarks and timelines. Additionally, this position involves organizing the necessary crews, equipment, and materials to fulfill the projects sold.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough walk-throughs with clients and landscape architects to outline the scope of work for new construction projects and prepare detailed estimates.
  • Manage client projects through regular site inspections, addressing any concerns, and identifying opportunities for additional work.
  • Ensure effective communication with subcontractors to guarantee the proper execution of assigned tasks.
  • Generate as-built documentation throughout the construction process, collaborating closely with landscape architects and clients.
  • Coordinate with the Manager of Logistics and Procurement to develop project schedules and staffing requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of routine materials and procure specialized items as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the proposed production schedule.
  • Review division reports regularly to align with profitability, sales, and revenue objectives, making adjustments as required.
  • Verify hours and materials for billing accuracy in relation to down payments, project completion percentages, and final invoices.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Design Build Manager regarding staff performance and behavioral issues on job sites.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations in accordance with industry standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5-7 years of supervisory or management experience in the industry.
  • Preferred industry-specific certifications such as CGIP or CNM.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and effective time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with clients, colleagues, and direct reports, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License; a CDL with class A endorsement is preferred.
