JOB SUMMARY
The selected candidate will participate in our upcoming sales training program. Sales Territory: Petoskey, MI / Charlevoix, MI / Harbor Springs, MI
Candidates must reside within the designated sales territory.
This role involves outside sales responsibilities, focusing on promoting the company's offerings and fostering relationships with both new and existing clients. The primary objective is to assist Sysco customers in achieving their goals while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the organization. This position may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate customer needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate new business, enhance existing accounts, and reduce attrition to achieve profitable sales growth and specific objectives within the assigned territory.
- Identify and qualify potential clients in line with company account strategies.
- Analyze customer requirements and develop tailored product and service solutions.
- Monitor market trends and suggest products to clients based on their business objectives.
- Stay informed about market conditions, product advancements, and competitor offerings; share insights with clients as part of value-added services.
- Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
- Provide product information and practical training to client personnel.
- Utilize personal vehicle for client visits, trade shows, company meetings, etc.
- Manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department; ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Oversee deliveries according to the transportation department's routing schedule; resolve any issues that arise during the order process.
- Engage in company events, promotions, customer visits, and community activities.
- Participate in sales and district meetings.
- Engage in continuous training sessions.
- Assist in the onboarding of new team members as required.
- Review and analyze sales reports, special order requests, and customer bid files.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining records, processing credits, and generating sales quotes.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales, or equivalent relevant experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
Preferred Qualifications
Bi-Lingual
Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or Culinary roles is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years).
Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits is required.
Requirements

- Reside or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the territory.
