JOB SUMMARY

The selected candidate will be part of an upcoming sales training program. Sales Territory: Petoskey, MI / Charlevoix, MI / Harbor Springs, MI

Candidates must reside within the designated sales territory.


This role entails outside sales responsibilities, focusing on promoting the company's offerings and cultivating relationships with both new and existing clients. The primary objective is to assist Sysco customers in achieving their goals while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the organization. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate customer needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, enhance existing accounts, and reduce lost business to drive profitable sales growth within the assigned territory.
  • Qualify prospects in alignment with company account prioritization goals.
  • Analyze customer needs and tailor a combination of products and services to fulfill those needs.
  • Monitor market trends and suggest products to clients based on their business objectives.
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product developments, and competitor offerings; share insights with clients as part of value-added services.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
  • Provide product knowledge and practical training to client personnel.
  • Utilize personal vehicle for travel to client accounts, industry events, and company meetings.
  • Manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Coordinate deliveries according to the transportation department's routing schedule; resolve any issues that arise during the order process.
  • Participate in company events, promotions, customer visits, and community engagements.
  • Attend and contribute to sales and district meetings.
  • Engage in continuous training sessions.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees as required.
  • Review and assess daily and weekly reports, including special-order requests and sales data.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets, maintaining records, processing credits, and generating sales quotes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales, or equivalent relevant experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.

Preferred Qualifications

Bi-Lingual

Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or Culinary roles is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (including no multiple DUIs within the last 2 years).

Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits is required.
