Sales Director, New Business Development

Xometry is seeking a Sales Director to lead our outbound/new business-focused team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for managing organizational sales by developing business plans, meeting and exceeding planned goals, and coordinating with our marketing department on lead generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage a high-performing team focused on outbound prospecting and new business development.
  • Ensure the sales pipeline remains full of qualified leads and prospects by overseeing the management of the sales pipeline to track and evaluate activities at each stage.
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to assist reps in winning deals and ensure seamless coordination to optimize sales processes and outcomes.
  • Monitor employee productivity and motivate the team to reach daily and monthly goals by implementing best practices in sales pipeline management.
  • Ensure accurate and complete information is captured in CRM-Salesforce and utilize CRM tools to manage and analyze sales activities and pipeline health.
  • Supervise the team in accordance with company policies and procedures, conduct employee interviews, orientations, and hiring of staff, and provide ongoing training, coaching, and development to enhance the team's skills and product knowledge.
  • Report to senior management on sales metrics and opportunities and use data-driven insights to forecast revenue and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our ideal customers and how they relate to our products to tailor sales strategies and improve customer engagement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3+ years of experience managing and directing a sales team.
  • Proven track record in outbound sales and new business development.
  • Experience in planning and implementing aggressive outbound sales strategies.
  • Knowledge of technical sales and manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to articulate value propositions and ROI to potential customers.
  • Dedication to providing great customer service and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to train, develop, grow, and lead a sales team to success.
