About the Role

Boeing is seeking a skilled Assembly Associate to join our Propulsion Team in North Charleston, South Carolina. As an Assembly Associate, you will be responsible for performing routine production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate and install nacelle and engine components, electrical testing of systems, rigging of nacelle components, gap verification & shimming, and installation of fasteners.
  • Perform routine production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, and equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
  • Partner with Integrated Build Teams (IBTs) and Team Leaders to mitigate performance risk utilizing Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) methodologies.
  • Support overtime as required to meet customer commitments.
  • Support teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross-training and mentoring.
Requirements
  • Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
  • ~1+ years' experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist, and walking.
  • Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting).
  • High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
