We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to spearhead the systems engineering and integration of advanced Naval software systems.

Compensation: Pay Band - $100,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Apply your knowledge in systems engineering and IT for effective Service and Systems Management.
  • Devise innovative solutions to address challenges and implement enhancements.
  • Analyze and resolve issues that involve multiple applications and technologies, collaborating with technical teams across various departments.
  • Revise and enhance system designs and architectures to boost efficiency, stability, and sustainability.
  • Provide constructive feedback on internal processes and suggest improvements.
  • Contribute to team initiatives by completing related tasks as required.
  • Conduct technical analyses essential for the maintenance and support of DoD systems.
  • Perform in-depth research and analysis on emerging technologies and issues.
  • Prepare technical presentations for engineering review teams.
  • Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software into CANES baselines.
  • Offer technical expertise to design systems that monitor and manage CANES baselines.
  • Support and maintain IT enterprise products with your technical knowledge.
  • Execute installation tests on physical hardware within lab environments as initial integration tests.
  • Ensure installation documentation is actionable.
  • Lead and mentor a small team.
Your Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of experience in Systems Management in a senior systems engineer capacity, managing complex IT infrastructures.
  • Proficiency with IT monitoring solutions such as MS Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Solarwinds, ManageEngine, and Dynatrace.
  • Experience with Configuration Management and Asset Compliance tools like MS Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Familiarity with Ticketing and Help Desk systems.
  • Ability to effectively install, configure, and manage in a multi-system and/or multi-application environment.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft PowerShell for automating installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
  • Capability to automate application installation and configuration processes.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Understanding of Linux/Windows operating systems and networking from a systems design perspective.
  • Experience in creating and testing virtualized environments (VMWare, OpenShift, Hyper-V, AWS) for development and testing that align with system requirements.
  • Familiarity with System Engineering processes and practices.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills to engage effectively with users, engineers, and management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring junior staff while fostering a collaborative work culture.
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain an interim security clearance prior to the start date.
  • DoD 8140/8570 Certifications to qualify as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCIT, MCSA, MCSE).
  • Experience with Microsoft Systems Center Products (MECM/SCCM/SCOM/SCSM).
  • Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Knowledge of integrated development environments (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management.
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform for playbook creation and development.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Bash, Python, HTML, Java).
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication.
  • Expertise in automating maintenance and health checks for IT systems.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in IT Service Management.
  • Experience with RedHat Ansible or Satellite.
  • Knowledge of Knowledge Management systems.
  • Experience with VMWare virtual infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and BASH scripting.
  • Certifications in Scrum/Agile, CISSP, SANS, ITIL, PMP, or RedHat.
