Position Overview

The Department of the Navy is seeking a dedicated engineer to contribute to the development and architecture of specialized systems that address electromagnetic spectrum challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Supporting the design and implementation of system architectures that enhance naval prototypes for command, control, and communications (C3) capabilities.
  • Decomposing complex requirements across various customer sets to develop innovative system concepts that adapt to evolving applications.
  • Conducting thorough research and creating integration plans for emerging technologies to meet complex and changing operational needs.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Eligibility for federal employment must be established.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
  • New hires will undergo an E-Verify employment verification check.

Additionally, candidates must:

  • Complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment.
  • Submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing thereafter.
  • Obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance prior to starting the role.
  • Be prepared for potential travel to various locations, including remote sites.
Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or ND-04 in federal service or comparable experience in the private sector. This experience should include:

  • Developing architectures and specialized products to support Command, Control, and Communications solutions.
  • Addressing electromagnetic security requirements.
  • Conducting research and formulating plans to integrate new technologies into complex systems.
Educational Background

Candidates must possess a professional engineering degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent qualifications as outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Acceptable educational pathways include:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
