Job Summary

The Director of Global Human Resources will oversee a team of global HR professionals, partnering with leadership in DC and NDI's global country offices to provide outstanding human resources support to a diverse employee population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously monitor HR systems, policies, projects, and procedures to ensure the success of NDI staff.
  • Work with headquarters and international-based employees to provide guidance and oversight on employee relations, performance management, and compliance with organizational policies and relevant U.S. and international employment laws.
  • Recommend and implement new policies or practices to address changing organizational or compliance needs and to improve the efficiency and quality of the HR function.
  • Build trust-based, collaborative, and respectful relationships with management and staff, partnering with others across the organization to create a positive work environment and culture.
  • Supervise headquarters-based global HR staff and provide mentoring and training to in-country staff with HR responsibilities.
  • Coach HR staff and leadership on employee relations issues and develop tools, templates, and processes to manage employee relations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a global nonprofit, with a breadth and depth of generalist experience across Human Resources functions/areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of DEI principles, policies, and best practices, with a focus on the unique challenges and opportunities within an organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a hybrid work environment.
  • SHRMP or HRCI certification preferred.
What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, a generous PTO policy, flexible schedules, and a 10% employer contribution to the retirement pension.

This position offers an anticipated salary range of approximately $119,200 - $155,000.

While there may be flexibility for remote/hybrid work environment and to comply with tax and legal obligations, successful candidates must be residents of MD, DC, or VA, or relocate prior to the start of employment at NDI.

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. NDI does not provide sponsorship.
