Job Title: Director, Human Resources and Office Operations

Join the American Academy of Actuaries as we seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Human Resources and Office Operations team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth, improve employee engagement, and enhance our organizational culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Talent Development and Engagement: Develop and execute a comprehensive talent development and engagement strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and values.
  • Human Resources: Provide strategic guidance on HR-related matters, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and payroll processing.
  • Office Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our office, including facilities management, mailroom operations, and front desk administration.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage our employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as our 401(k) and pension plans.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the semi-monthly payroll processing and review employee leave balance record keeping.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Manage the recruitment process for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee separations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and to support our organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 4-5 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: $130,000 - $145,000 per year.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as our 401(k) and pension plans.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,000 per year for continuing education and professional development.
