Position Overview

Salary: $48,000 - $50,000 per annum

Capitol Language Services, LLC, established in 2006, is a local organization dedicated to providing a nurturing, educational, and secure environment for children in after-school programs.

The Human Resources Coordinator will play a crucial role in assisting the executive office during morning hours, offering administrative support to the HR team. This includes maintaining records, managing files, and entering data into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). In the afternoon, the Coordinator will extend support to after-school programs.

This role is particularly suited for recent graduates seeking to start their career in human resources.

Note: This position requires 100% in-person attendance.

Main Office & Recruitment Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service by addressing employee inquiries and requests.
  • Complete and organize I-9 verifications.
  • Follow up on background checks for new hires.
  • Schedule onboarding meetings with new employees to ensure task completion.
  • Assist in preparing for performance evaluations.
  • Monitor candidate status in the HRIS and provide follow-up communications.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents.
  • Organize documents into appropriate electronic employee files.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.
Cross-Departmental Support

Assist the Executive Director, Office Manager, Assistant Director, and HR Department with various projects and tasks, including:

  • Providing administrative support, including document creation, scheduling, and written communications.
  • Supporting daily operations of after-school programs by filling in for instructors and coordinators as necessary.
  • Implementing and adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Reporting any procedural discrepancies to the executive office.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of one year of office experience is required.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BambooHR is advantageous.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
