Job Title: Director, Human Resources and Office Operations

Join the American Academy of Actuaries as we seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Human Resources and Office Operations team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth, improve employee engagement, and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Talent Development and Engagement: Develop and execute a comprehensive talent development and engagement strategy to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
  • Human Resources: Provide strategic guidance on HR-related matters, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and payroll processing.
  • Office Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, including facilities management, mailroom operations, and front desk administration.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the semi-monthly payroll processing and review employee leave balance record keeping.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Manage the recruitment process for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee separations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 4-5 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with employees, management, and external partners.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and laws, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and employment law.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: $130,000 - $145,000 per year.
