Job Overview

The Facilities Operations Supervisor (FOS) serves as the primary authority for the upkeep of the hotel’s infrastructure, equipment, and surrounding areas. This pivotal role encompasses overseeing a small team of maintenance personnel, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. The FOS is tasked with the maintenance and repair of various hotel facilities, guaranteeing a pristine and organized workspace, while also safeguarding the hotel’s assets, including tools and equipment. The focus on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction, alongside prudent expense management, contributes significantly to the hotel’s overarching objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Uphold the principles of exceptional service in all interactions with guests and team members.
2. Implement and maintain processes to ensure the hotel is consistently well-maintained and clean.
3. Collaborate with management to recruit, train, and develop maintenance staff.
4. Exhibit specialized knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and equipment mechanics.
5. Conduct maintenance and repairs on various hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and essential equipment.
6. Execute preventive maintenance tasks as per the established PM Works program, ensuring all systems function optimally.
7. Monitor inventory levels and adhere to established ordering protocols to maintain necessary supplies.
8. Address hazardous situations and emergencies promptly, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.
9. Oversee the testing and maintenance of all hotel safety systems.
10. Contribute to the annual budget planning for the maintenance department.
11. Foster teamwork and effective communication with other departments to enhance service quality.
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
13. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

1. Advanced vocational training coupled with two years of experience in general maintenance or construction.
2. Relevant professional certifications and licenses as mandated by law.
3. Previous experience in hotel maintenance or similar industries is preferred.
4. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
5. Proficiency in English, with additional languages being advantageous.
6. Basic mathematical skills for budgeting and inventory management.
7. Problem-solving and leadership abilities.
8. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
9. Valid driver’s license is required.
10. Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
