Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Safety Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations. This position acts as the main liaison for employees, visitors, and contractors concerning EHS matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Execute Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and initiatives.

  • Alert management to hazardous conditions or behaviors.
  • Support investigations of incidents and accidents.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Conduct risk evaluations and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Implement preventive measures effectively.
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to established safety standards.
  • Compile and present reports on incidents and violations, identifying root causes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine work environments and equipment to verify compliance with safety policies and regulations at all levels.
  • Assist in delivering safety and health training programs.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections.
  • Contribute to the goal of ensuring all employees return home safely after their shifts.
  • Guide and educate staff on various safety-related subjects.
  • Manage the supply and availability of safety equipment.
  • Oversee repairs, installations, and other activities that may pose safety risks to employees.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which encompasses quality, is integrated into every product manufactured.
  • Adhere to all quality standards outlined in the Quality Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and practices.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with safety management information systems.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED LEVELS)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role or a similar position with safety responsibilities.
