POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Safety Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations. This position acts as the main liaison for employees, visitors, and contractors concerning EHS matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement and uphold Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and programs.
- Report unsafe conditions or actions to the supervisor.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents.
- Comply with all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Enforce preventive safety measures.
- Ensure all employees adhere to safety regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on incidents and violations, identifying root causes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect work environments and equipment to verify compliance with company, state, and federal safety standards.
- Assist in safety and health training programs.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections.
- Ensure that all employees return home safely at the end of their shifts.
- Advise and guide employees on various safety topics.
- Maintain the supply and availability of safety equipment.
- Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and any activities that may pose safety risks to employees.
QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which encompasses quality, is integrated into every product manufactured.
- Adhere to all quality requirements outlined in the Quality Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
- Strong understanding of potentially hazardous materials and practices.
- Experience in data analysis and statistical reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with safety management information systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role or similar position with demonstrated safety responsibilities.
