Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Childcare Eligibility and Enrollment Specialist to join our team at Crystal Stairs. As a key member of our Planning and ERSEA Services component, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of our enrollment, recruitment, selection, eligibility, and attendance systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Eligibility Monitoring: Develop and maintain a monitoring system to determine the eligibility of children at assigned sites, ensuring compliance with Performance Standards and program policies.
  • Enrollment Management: Monitor and maintain funded enrollment levels, ensuring that no more than 10% of children come from families exceeding low-income guidelines and that at least 10% of those served have disabilities.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Ensure that recruitment efforts target families most in need of Head Start services, including previously underserved populations, and that selection of children and families is based on current enrollment criteria.
  • Waiting List Management: Maintain a waiting list to facilitate the filling of vacancies as they occur.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and report on enrollment data to inform future ERSEA planning and decision-making.
  • Attendance Management: Analyze the causes of absenteeism and develop action plans to improve attendance rates.
  • System Implementation: Implement a monitoring methodology to ensure assigned sites meet enrollment, recruitment, selection, eligibility, and attendance goals and requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience and/or training.
  • Experience: Two or more years of experience in a preschool program, with a working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skills: Excellent computer skills, statistical analysis, and knowledge of administrative basics.
Special Requirements
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and a valid California Driver License in good standing with DMV.
  • Health Requirements: Must meet State health requirements, including passing a physical examination and immunization clearances.
